Max trash screen height
Does anybody know how the "Max. Trash Screen Height" parameter on the culvert inlet trash screen tab is used?

The help file does not appear refer to it. Perhaps it's a place marker for future improvements.

Cheers,

John

Hi John,
This is to enable the area (and hence velocity through the trash screen) to be calculated using the true water level, and not the piezometric head (which it defaults to). Clearly these (and therefore ultimately the headloss) can differ significantly if the culvert is pressurised.
Rightly or wrongly, the piezometric head is left as the default behaviour to preserve backwards compatibility.
And thanks for drawing attention to its absence in the Help - this will be addressed in due course.
Cheers,
Konrad

PS In case it wasn't obvious from the above, the area calculation will use WL/piezo head if this is below the max trash screen height; otherwise it will be capped at this value.

Ah! Thanks Konrad.

One final question about it: is the max trash screen height actually "height" or is it a level to ODN? I expect it's a height from bed level but I'd like to be sure.

Correct - it is relative to the bed level.
