  1. Are the correct version of the dongle drivers installed? Please check the version by going to Start - Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs. The version installed of Sentinel System Drivers should be 7.4.0 or later. You can obtain the latest version of the dongle drivers from www.safenet-inc.com/support/tech/sentinel.asp.

  2. Are you using remote desktop to access ISIS?

ISIS v3.1 can be accessed using remote desktop on operating systems starting with Windows XP SP2. Please note using remote desktop will not work under Windows XP SP1 and Windows 2000.

The ISIS v3.0 engine will not read the dongle via remote desktop. A fix for this is available, but this works only under Windows XP SP2 and later. Please download a version of ISIS titled "ISIS v3.0.1 Free / Professional (for XP SP2)" from the link here (you will need to register at the web-site which is a simple and an easy process) or contact ISIS support for further details.

  3. Are you using a dongle supplied by Halcrow after 14th March 2008? The brand of dongle we used changed on this date and therefore older versions of ISIS (v3.0 and earlier) will not be able to read the new dongles. Patch release v3.0.1 was released to address this issue, and this and all subsequent versions will be able to read both the new and old dongles. The computational engine for ISIS versions 2.3 to 2.5 have also been recompiled to read the new dongles and are available to download separately from the download area.

  4. If none of these suggestions helped you, please call ISIS support and the experienced team will provide you with a solution based on your particular case.
